Made in England exclusively for AlfaStop. After considerable research AlfaStop now offers this item which is based on a thermostat sourced directly from a worldwide engine manufacturer. The thermostat is cold assembled for AlfaStop into the custom-made Brass carrier tube. Each thermostat is then tested after assembly to check that it opens at the requisite temperature.It is generally accepted that for cars of "our era", a normal road engine is sufficiently cooled by a thermostat set at around 70°C, whereas a higher performance or competition engine requires 80°C or thereabouts. This thermostat is rated at 75°C, mid-way between the two temperature ranges. This item has also been used on a number of pre-WW2 or Vintage cars as well as a number of Specials or Replicars.
