The manufacturer had access to an original early Giulietta Sprint air filter canister and cover to ensure a good fit. The filter edges are intentionally compressible, thus negating the need for the original filter body top cover seal, as Alfa Romeo part # 1315. 53. 403. The filter contains a fire retardant layer within the foam which reduces the risk of the filter being set alight by an engine spit back. The recommended service interval is 10,000 miles or 16,000 kms of normal road use, or more frequently if the car is used in dusty conditions. The filter is pre-oiled & is ready for immediate use. In common with the RETEX washable filters used as original equipment, this filter can be cleaned and re-oiled. The widely available Rock Oil Factory Foam Kleen & Rock Oil Factory Foam Oil are suitable for this purpose.
